April Newsletter

Hello queer library lovers!

April was a busy month here at QLL! Our holds are still pretty astronomical, since so many of you are such voracious readers! (Not surprising, though!) We're still working on the balance between purchasing to lower hold times and purchasing to bring in new titles each month. Both of these kinds of additions are important to us and to the collection, and sometimes it's really tough to have to choose between something new and something really popular! But rest assured, we're doing our absolute best to keep up with you.

May promises to be an exciting month as well! The world is warming up, the trees are coming back to life, and the sun is actually shining sometimes. In May, we celebrate Asian-American and Pacific Islander heritage month, Jewish heritage month, and Mental Health Awareness month. You can expect some new additions to the collection and some curated lists of books about all of those different experiences through a queer lens early in the month.

As for us over at your friendly online library, we'll also be spending May gearing up for our annual fundraiser in June. We're letting you know about this one a month early so you can plan ahead! Our library is entirely donation-based, so we're only able to offer these services because of the funding you provide. If you're able to donate, those funds will be spent keeping QLL open for another year and providing queer book access to our community across the US. Keep your eyes peeled on our social media pages (and your email inbox) for our official fundraiser announcement!

Until next time!
