September Collection Update

New stuff for September!

Hey QLL!

September has arrived! We’ve got lots of plans for the coming fall season, so hold onto your hat. Did you know that September is Library Card Sign Up Month? It’s a great time to let everyone you’ve ever met know that they can sign up for a QLL membership for free! We’re sitting pretty at just over 60,000 members of the library right now - how many more people can we get access to queer literature and information by the end of September? Feel free to blow our minds.

We’ve got a couple new lists in Libby for you to check out, and they’re a bit more general than usual so hopefully they’ll help you find something you didn’t even realize you were looking for. We’ve got the Travelogue list, full up of fiction about queers globe-trotting as well as nonfiction to help you plan your own queer adventures. We’ve also got the Time for a Tasty Treat list, because we all deserve a little treat! Dig in to some fiction with food-focused fun, or take a bite out of something new and different with cookbooks and culinary memoirs!

Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming special occasions! Around the middle of the month, we’ll put together some curated lists to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! We’re so excited to spotlight Hispanic and Latine culture and its overlap within the queer community. Then later towards the end of September, it’s Banned Books week. We aren’t about banning books here, so we’ll be able to show you a bunch of books we have available that have been challenged, banned, and censored.

Enjoy these final weeks of summer weather, and happy back-to-school for anyone to whom that applies!
