Extra News: Patron Surge

Hello, QLLers!

So, a funny thing happened last week - we went viral! A very kind TikTok user named hannahsbooked made a video about us, and it really took off! Thanks to Han's video, we can all give a warm welcome to the 25,000+ new members of the Queer Liberation Library. Hello! Welcome! We're so glad you're here!

With the growth in numbers of people, the numbers in dollars has followed. Thanks to your generosity, we've raised nearly $20,000 since the beginning of February. We can't thank you all enough. 

Our only concern with this patron surge is wait times going up, so we held an emergency collection development meeting to make sure there's books available for you! We bought some new titles that are available without any queues, along with extra copies of the popular books with big holds lists! You can check out our Available Now! list to peruse the books ready for check out immediately and place some holds on other stuff in the meantime. 

This surge has really changed the game for us. Our strategy for how to serve 4,000 patrons is going to have to change now that we're serving over 30,000! (THIRTY! THOUSAND!) Please be patient with us while we adjust! Understand that there will probably be longer wait times on a lot of the books for a little while! We're going to do our best to grow with our community.

And with that, I set you free to browse our digital shelves! Check out books! Place a hold! Read a book and return it early! Share the library with your friends, your family, a stranger, your English teacher, or a friendly talking frog! If you're able, please donate, as we're funded entirely by donations at this time.
